Nymphoplasty

Cosmetic surgery is rather rare for a reduction of the vagina’s small lips. (Labia undervalued), so rare that no medical organisation has taken a definite stand on the subject. But more and more women who went under the procedure confess: “I did not know that this surgery was possible while I’ve felt self-conscious about it all my life “.

Surgery

The intervention consists in removing the excess of skin of the small lips. It is advisable not to remove skin around the clitoris in order to prevent a loss of sensibility. On the gynaecological side drawings will be made to estimate the excess to be corrected. The operation is done in less than one hour under local anaesthesia. A light sedative can be given if needed.

The risks are very small and include infection or bleeding. A tiny needle is used to numb the area to be treated and the procedure is painless. Two lines of melting stitches will close the wound.

After the surgery

This surgery is more uncomfortable than painful, the discomfort being caused by oedema or swelling of the small lips and that for about 3 days following the operation. On the first few days, Codeine is used to ease the pain then, Tylenol. One recommends simply to have sitz baths or to rinse after using the toilet. It is also necessary to apply an antibiotic ointment during the first days. The stitches will take approximately fifteen days to melt.

How long before ssexual activities can be resumed ?

As soon as the wound has healed, which usually takes between 3 to 4 weeks.
