Juvederm, once injected into skin, lifts the lip, wrinkle or fold. Once in the skin, Juvederm works together with the body’s own hyaluronic to create volume. Unlike permanent implants, once the effect of the treatment has worn off, Juvederm leaves the choice to repeat or choose another treatment.

Juvederm is injected into the dermis and provides volume where the body’s own hyaluronic has decreased. One treatment takes approximately 30 minutes. The results can be seen immediately and no scars or other marks are left on the face. Even thought the treated area can swell up and be red up to one day afterwards, it is quite possible to meet friends and work as usual.

Is the treatment painful ?

Juvederm is injected in small quantities directly under the skin using an ultra-light needle that may cause a mild discomfort. The procedure is simple, and the results are almost immediate. To optimise comfort during this short procedure, an anaesthetic can be applied on the treated area.

Juvederm is not made or taken from animals. Therefore there is no risk of allergy. Juvederm is perfectly safe without any preliminary test.

How long will it last ?

The lasting effect of Juvederm will vary from one individual to another, depending on different factors such as the tissue structure, the life style of the patient, the age and the expectations of the individual. However, we know that after six months, for most of the treated patients, the effects are still 50 to 80% visible. Most people will choose to get a touch up within the year following the initial treatment.
